Modena, March 1st 2019 – Mr. Angelo Massari and Mr. Sebastiano Zappalà were given their diplomas as Knights of Office by the Vice Delegate. The official ceremony took place at the Military Academy in Modena, in the presence of Mr. Stefano Mannino, of the Representative for the cities of Modena and Reggio Emilia and of several Knights.
Piacenza, November 16th 2018– During a private ceremony held at the Police Headquarters, Dr. Pietro Ostuni, police commissioner of the city, received the Diploma of Commander of Merit by the Delegate Mr. Corrado Sforza Fogliani and the Vice Delegate, Mr. Franco Marenghi. On the occasion, Mr. Ostuni also was given the Constantinian Chronicles and another book about the Royal Oratory of San Dalmazio of Piacenza.
On September 30th, an exceptional concert dedicated to H.E. Msgr. Gianni Ambrosio, Bishop of the Diocese of Piacenza-Bobbio and Prior of the Delegation, took place at the Basilica of Sant’Antonino. Prestigious artists performed, directed by Mauro Trombetta, and were warmly applauded by a large audience of faithful and authorities,
The Delegate Mr. Corrado Sforza Fogliani and the Vice Delegate Mr. Franco Marenghi were present.
On the occasion of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, a solemn celebration took place in Piacenza. It was presided over by the Prior of the Delegation who also read the important message addressed to all Knights and Dames by the Grand Prior, HE Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino. On this occasion, the diploma as Knight Commander of Merit with star was given to HE the Prefect of Piacenza, Mr. Maurizio Falco by the Delegate, Mr. Corrado Sforza Fogliani, assisted by the Vice Delegate, Mr. Franco Marenghi.
On September 14th the solemn celebration of the Holy Mass for the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross took place in Modena at the Basilica Abbazia di San Pietro. The celebration, attended by several Knights of the Representation of Modena and Reggio Emilia, a representative of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem and many people, was presided by Father Manuel Paganuzzi, Chaplain of the Representation, who read the message sent for the occasion by the Grand Prior.
On June 29th the 500th anniversary of the Benedictine cathedral of St. Peter’s benediction took place. The holy liturgy was presided by His Eminence Archbishop of Modena Msgr. Erio Castellucci. Lots of devoted people joined the celebration. The delegation was represented by the Vice Delegate Mr. Marenghi, who read a personal massage, written by the Prior of the delegation, to H.E. the Archbishop. His speech was full of approval, support and gratitude towards this reflection moment. Mr. Marenghi also thanked the Prior of the cathedral for his kind welcome and expressed, on behalf of the delegate, his appreciation for the event. After the ceremony a dinner, offered by the Benedictine community, took place.
A fully equipped residence for pilgrims was inaugurated in Santa Maria del Monte. It was donated by the delegation of Emilia Romagna and the Bank of Piacenza, on the occasion of the delivery of the Award “Solidarietà per la Vita” that has reached its 28th edition.
The Holy Communion was celebrated by His Eminence Msgr. Ovidio Vezzoli, Bishop of the Diocese of Fidenza.
Mr. Corrado Sforza Fogliani, Chairman of Executive Board of Piacenza Bank and Delegate of the Order, hopes the new premises could become a future permanent hosting residence for pilgrims visiting the Sanctuary.
Later the prestigious award “Solidarietà per la Vita” was delivered to Mrs. Giuseppina Schiavi, as acknowledgement of her efforts in many years of volunteer work.
Piacenza, May 25th 2018. During a private ceremony which took place at Caserma “Nicolai”, Col. Salvatore També was given his certificate as Commander of Merit by the Delegate for Emilia Romagna, who congratulated with him on behalf of the whole delegation as well. The Vice Delegate attended too and gave Col. També a copy of the Constantinian Chronicles. Colonel then showed some relics dating back to the two World wars.
On May, 5th 2018 some Knights and Dames of the delegation participated at the event “La Salita al Pordenone” at Basilica Santa Maria di Campagna in Piacenza. The delegation admired the beauties of the cathedral and visited Palazzo Farnese.
On Monday, September 18, the Delegation of Emilia Romagna organized a training Conference for aspiring Knights and Dames. The conference was chaired by Msgr. Arnaldo Morandi, Secretary General of the Office of the Grand Prior and H.E. Mr. Alberto Lembo, Grand Inquisitor. Mr. Franco Marenghi, Vice Delegate for Emilia Romagna and Mr. Ilario Pagani, Representative for Modena and Reggio Emilia also attended the conference, along with other Knights, Dames and aspiring members.
On June 22, during a private ceremony held in the Episcopal Palace of Piacenza H.E. the Most Rev. Mons. Gianni Ambrosio, Bishop of the Diocese of Piacenza-Bobbio, received his diploma as Ecclesiastical Knight Grand Cross of Grace from the Delegate for Emilia Romagna, Nob. Avv. Corrado Sforza Fogliani, who congratulated him also on behalf of the Knights of Piacenza and all members of the Delegation.
In addition to the Deputy Delegate also present were Avv. Franco Marenghi (who illustrated and donated to Bishop Ambrosio the Constantinian Chronicles for the years 2012-2016) and the Secretary General of the Office of the Grand Prior, Mons. Arnaldo Morandi. Mons Morandi conveyed the warm congratulations of Cardinal Martino and offered the bishop most significant writings of his magisterium, including a copy of the Decree issued by the Apostolic Penitentiary of the Vatican granting plenary indulgence to the Knights and Dames.
Mons. Ambrosio expressed his gratitude for the great honor conferred and his delight in having become a member of the great Constantinian Family. He expressed enthusiasm and interest in the instructions of the Grand Prior regarding the pastoral role and commitment that the Bishops and Priests are called upon to fulfil to ensure a true Christian life and charitable actions at the service of all members of the Order.
He then offered to all present the excellent and recently published “Auxilium a Domino”, by the Collegio Alberoni of Piacenza, commemorating the three hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the birth of Cardinal Giulio Alberoni, whose activities merge with those of the Farnese family and are the foundation of the dynasty of the Bourbons Two Sicilies.
