Genova, 14 April 2017 – In honor of Easter representatives of the Ligurian Delegation collected and donated food items to the parish of the ancient Mother Church of Genova Pegli dedicated to Saints Martin and Benedict.
The Knights, led by the Delegate, were welcomed by parish priest Don Michele Alberta who has been providing spiritual guidance to the activities of the Delegation for some time.
The Liguria Delegation continues its work in sub-Saharan regions in dire need of assistance. During the summer season, coinciding with the dry season due to lack of rain, the delegation sent a container of goods to Matadi, in the estuary of the Congo, to be distributed partly throughout several villages of the Lower Congo and partly in the Dioceses of Kisantu. The items were entrusted to the care and tireless dedication of the Bishop, H.E. Mons. Fidèle Nsielele Zi Mputu.
Genoa, 21 November 2015. A religious service marking National Orphan Day and the Virgo Fidelis celebrations in honour of the Faithful Virgin, Protector of the Corps of Carabinieri, was held in the extremely ancient church of Pieve, predating the 11th century and dedicated to “Nostra Signora dell’Assunta di Prà” (Our Lady of the Assumption). The Delegation of Liguria of the Constantinian Order was also invited to the ceremony. In attendance were Captain Massimo Pittalunga, Brigade Commander of the Arenzano Brigade, who hosted the event, numerous knights and dignitaries of the Order, along with a large contingent of mayors from nearby municipalities situated in the eastern districts of the Genoa region, where the Delegation is actively engaged in delivering humanitarian assistance to areas heavily affected by the current post-industrial economic crisis.
Imperia, November 2015. The Delegation for Liguria – in close partnership with their affiliated branch Team Ponente Ligure – still pushing ahead with their humanitarian program for social cohesion, perfectly in line with ongoing project “The Hunger of our Neighbour”, have made a significant donation of packaged food items to the parish church “Santuario Nostra Signora Assunta dei Piani”. The parish priest, Don Antonello Dani, has been consistently at the forefront of delivering relief aid programs, bringing assistance to underprivileged and disadvantaged individuals experiencing financial hardships, with special attention being paid to people with disabilities, underage children, senior citizens vulnerable to loneliness, and refugees. Over the past few months, the province of Imperia has been heavily affected by the unfolding refugee crisis in particular, due to its closeness to French borders. Currently, however, there exist a number of different projects aimed at the redevelopment of public spaces and at the implementation of riverbed, road and beach maintenance plans while also providing a wide range of social and educational services.
Genoa, June 5, 2015. The Delegation of Liguria, led by Prof. Ing. Luigi Chersola, attended the first celebration of the third century of life of the Carabinieri in the prestigious barracks Vittorio Veneto, in Genoa, home of Command of the Legion Carabinieri of Liguria.
