Castenedolo (BS), April 22nd 2018. Lots of Lombard Knights and Dames attended a solemn liturgy on the occasion of the Solemnity of Saint George at the church of the town. Also present at the ceremony were the Vice Delegate of the region, Dr. Rizzani, Msgr. Morandi, religious and civil authorities. After the liturgy, presided by Msgr. Bodini, a charitable project was introduced. The event was successful also thanks to Mr. Mirandola’s efforts.
April, 22nd 2018. Some Knights and Dames living in Varese, in collaboration with Lions, ANIOC Delegation and Gallate Red Cross, keep on making efforts on diabetes prevention.
This morning 85 free screening tests have been made in Sumirago. These tests highlighted some anomalies that were immediately treated by the urgent care. Even the Mayor of the city appreciated the initiative.
Bergamo, March, 31st 2018. The Representative for the city of Bergamo, Mrs. Veronica Grillo, with some Knights of the Order, donated sanitary napkins for children, food and Easter gifts for the needy families of the territory to the director of Treviglio Caritas, Don Vincenzio Bosisio. This donation is part of Briciole di Salute project, which is very active in Italy.
The same day a group of Knights and Dames participated at the solemn Easter Vigil, celebrated by Msgr. Arnaldo Morandi, Prior of the delegation. Le liturgy took place in Brescia at Saint Gottardo Church. For that occasion, bed sheets, pillowcases and bedspreads were kindly donated to the prisons of the city.
On March, 16th a convention on Knightly orders and their relation with the Italian legislation and the Holy See took place at the Prefecture in Pavia. The Prefect, Dr. Attilio Visconti, greeted all the participants (more than 120 guests) and thanked the speakers. Then Dr. Ravazzani, who is the ANIOC President and the event organizer, took the floor and introduced the subject of the conference. He also explained the Orders’ evolution from an historical point of view. Afterwards Hon. Alberto Lembo described the several attempts which unfortunately take place nowadays to trade fake decorations and certificates. Msgr. Arnaldo Morandi clarified the relations between the Holy See and the Knightly Orders, in particular of the Constantinian Order. Indeed, all the speakers and organizers are part of the Constantinian Order. Lots of Knights and Dames of our Order, the Order of Malta and the Holy Sepulchre attended the event. A productive debate followed the conference. The event ended with a lunch at the prestigious Tennis Club.
Even this year, on March 23rd, some Knights and Dames of the Lombard delegation participated at the solemn celebration regarding the conclusion of Lent at the Cathedral of the city. The liturgy was presided by Cardinal Prosper Grech.
Brescia, March 19th and 24th. Mr. Mirandola and the meritorious Stefano Villotta, Nicola Salvi, Luciano Mazzola, Claudio Gaole and Valentino Cuna donated 20 beds to Fondazione Tanghetti. These will be forwarded to the healthcare structures and to sick people. It is the second time healthcare goods are donated. We thank Fondazione Villa fiori and Fondazione Tanghetti for their precious collaboration.
UN defined diabetes as “a worldwide healthcare emergency”. More and more people suffer from this terrible disease. In Italy 3 million people are aware of their condition but one million of them are not.
It is crucial to know if a form of diabetes has developed. For this reason medical screenings are essential in order to fight against it on time.
The delegation of Varese, in collaboration with Lions Club Solbiate Arno Valle Arno, Red Cross in Gallarate and the municipality, launched a free medical screening campaign in Albizzate. After the tests, citizens had the chance to have breakfast, which was kindly offered by the local Proloco and local AVIS.
Next screening will be on April, 22nd 2018 in Sumirago.
Botticino – Brescia (BS), March, 17th 2018. Some Knights of the Lombard delegation offered 4000 bottles of plain and sparkling water that were kindly donated by Monte Maniva company to the Diocesan Caritas in Brescia . The delegation thanks the company for its huge help.
Mr. Gavezzoli, one of the volunteers of the city of Brescia and with the collaboration of the Diocesan Caritas and under Msgr Arnaldo Morandi’s supervision, donated 150 kilos of food (fruits and vegetables) to Abbazia Olivetana St. Nicola di Rodengo-Saiano. This action’s mail goal was to react against poverty. Food was kindly donated by Brescian fruit and vegetables markets and was offered to needy families and needy old people.
