  • ACTIVITIES OF THE SICILIAN DELEGATION IN THE MONTH OF JULY

    20170721_170426The activities of the Sicilian Delegation to support the needy continued during the month of July.

    As has been occurring for several months the Delegation continues to provide a donation of fish to the soup kitchen of St. Mamiliano in Palermo. On July 17 Vice Delegate Nob. Antonio di Janni. Knight Grand Cross of Grace, provided the soup kitchen with 20 kg of fish. The food will be cooked and provided to the patrons of the soup kitchen, to be consumed in theirView Post respective homes.

    In response to a request by His Most Reverend Eminence Cardinal Montenegro, Archbishop of Agrigento, as of last month the Delegation has been supporting the Solidarity Soup Kitchen of the Missionaria Porte Aperta community in Agrigento by providing great quantities of food.

    As part of the project “Crumbs of Health” two distributions took place during the month of July in the city of Monreale, in the premises located next to the church of Maria SS degli Agonizzanti. On Wednesday, July 19, the distribution consisted of 130 liters of milk, 60 packages of diapers, 150 jars of baby food, 20 containers of milk for infants, 50 packages of cookies and biscuits and 60 kg of pasta for the families of children ages 0 to 3 years.

    On July 20 the Vice Delegate, accompanied by Knight Antonino Amato, donated a swimming pool 5 meter long 3 meters wide and 1.5 meters deep to the Madonna della Tenda di Cristo in Acireale. This facility is managed by the consecrated sisters of the Madonna della Tenda di Cristo who shelter single mothers and their children.

    The donation was in response to a request made over the past several months, in order to allow the children to play in the water. The pool was assembled by the Vice Delegate and by Knight Amato, with the assistance of volunteers.
    The pool was inaugurated and blessed on July 22 by Don Carmelo Raspa, the priest assigned to the structure.

  • PIEDMONT AND VALLE D’AOSTA DELEGATION – NEW DONATION TO THE PRO INFANTIA DERELICTA

    IMG-20170719-WA0007 Turin, 22 July 2017 – A group of Knights, Dames and newly appointed members of the Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta Delegation, led by Mr. Mauro Maggione, responded to a request for assistance from the former orphanage of Turin, the Pro Infantia Derelicta, by providing the facility with a copious donation of food and home and personal hygiene items.

    This new donation comes under the project “The Hunger of our Neighbor”, so strongly supported by H.R.H. prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Grand Master.

  • ABRUZZO AND MOLISE – RESUMPTION OF ACTIVITIES IN THE MOLISE REGION

    VENAFRO (IS). Subsequent to a meeting held in Tagliacozza, Abruzzo on April 23, the Knights and Dames of the Abruzzo and Molise Delegation assembled in Venafro on July 9, thus initiating activities in the Molisana region. On this occasion many Knights and Dames from other parts of Italy were also present, along with numerous guests. Delegate Mr Francesco Ciufo was welcomed by the Municipal Administration of Venafro, represented by Mrs Angela Maria Tommasone who thanked them for having chosen her city for this meeting and by Regional Counselor Mr. Massimiliano Scarabeo, as well as numerous local authorities.
    During the meeting the Delegate spoke of the different charitable activities carried out throughout the world to assist the less fortunate.

  • DONATION TO SOUP KITCHEN

    IMG_923610 July 2017, as part of the charitable activities of the Constantinian Delegation of Lombardy, Brescia section, Mr, Maurizio Mirandola, with Mr Stefano Villotta and volunteers Mazzola Luciano, Savi Nicola and Denis, made a donation to the Caritas of Brescia East – through Mons. Pierantonio Bodini, Ecclesiastical Knight of Grace and Vice Secretary of the Office of the Grand Prior. The donation consisted of food supplies and cutlery to be used by the Caritas Soup Kitchen for the area.

  • THE BISHOP OF THE DIOCESE OF PIACENZA-BOBBIO NOMINATED ECCLESIASTICAL KNIGHT GRAND CROSS OF GRACE

    On June 22, during a private ceremony held in the Episcopal Palace of Piacenza H.E. the Most Rev. Mons. Gianni Ambrosio, Bishop of the Diocese of Piacenza-Bobbio, received his diploma as Ecclesiastical Knight Grand Cross of Grace from the Delegate for Emilia Romagna, Nob. Avv. Corrado Sforza Fogliani, who congratulated him also on behalf of the Knights of Piacenza and all members of the Delegation.

    In addition to the Deputy Delegate also present were Avv. Franco Marenghi (who illustrated and donated to Bishop Ambrosio the Constantinian Chronicles for the years 2012-2016) and the Secretary General of the Office of the Grand Prior, Mons. Arnaldo Morandi. Mons Morandi conveyed the warm congratulations of Cardinal Martino and offered the bishop most significant writings of his magisterium, including a copy of the Decree issued by the Apostolic Penitentiary of the Vatican granting  plenary indulgence to the Knights and Dames.

    Mons. Ambrosio expressed his gratitude for the great honor conferred and his delight in having become a member of the great Constantinian Family. He expressed enthusiasm and interest in the instructions of the Grand Prior regarding the pastoral  role and commitment that the Bishops and Priests are called upon to fulfil to ensure a true Christian life and charitable actions at the service of all members of the Order.

    He then offered to all present the excellent and recently published “Auxilium a Domino”, by the Collegio Alberoni of Piacenza, commemorating the three hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the birth of Cardinal Giulio Alberoni, whose activities merge with those of the Farnese family and are the foundation of the dynasty of the Bourbons Two Sicilies.

  • TUSCANY – SOLIDARITY LUNCHEON

    Florence, 17 June 2017.  In honor of the festivity of Corpus Domini, the Knights and Dames of the Tuscany Delegation provided a luncheon for about fifty senior citizens and needy people who are cared for by the Parish of San Michele a Rovezzano (FL) as a  tangible symbol of solidarity and compassion for the less fortunate.

    On the 24th, Knights and Dames donated to the Church of Foiano della Chiana essential food supplies to be distributed to the people in need.
    These activities are part of the Unitary Project “The Hunger of our Neighbor”, established by H.R.H. the Grand Master.

  • SICILY – CRUMBS OF HEALTH, JUNE 2017

    Sicily, 22 June 2017 – On Thursday, June 22, Deputy Delegate Nob. Dott. Antonio di  Janni coordinated several Knights, Dames and volunteers to make a triple donation of goods in different areas of the region, specifically Palermo, Monreale and Piana degli Albanesi.

    At 10 A.M. the second monthly distribution of products  for children aged zero to three years took place in the premises located next to the church of Maria SS degli Agonizzanti in Monreale. The donation benefited more than 30 needy families.
    Shortly before noon the Deputy Delegate, assisted by Knight Commander Umberto Mendola, delivered numerous products to the head of the diocesan Caritas of  the Eparchy of Piana degli Albanesi for the children of needy families. The items were scheduled to be distributed in the course of the next few days..
    In the afternoon they brought over 20 kg of fish to the volunteers of the soup kitchen of S. Mamiliano, a shelter that provides over 100 meals each day, fulfilling the double purpose of aiding the needy and providing meals that can be enjoyed in the home within the family unit

  • 60th ANNIVERSARY OF THE ORDAINMENT OF HIS EMINENCE THE GRAND PRIOR

    Rome, 20 June 2017 – His Most Reverend Eminence Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino, our Grand Prior, commemorated the sixtieth anniversary of his ordainment by  celebrating Holy Mass in the  Almo Collegio Capranica, the college where he was first a student and later its President.

    H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Grand Master, conveyed his sincere best wishes also on behalf of all the knights and dames of the Constantinian Order, for reaching this significant milestone.

  • VENICE – JUNE 10, 2017. CEREMONY OF INVESTITURE IN THE PATRIARCHAL BASILICA OF SAINT MARK

    Venice. The investiture ceremony for new Knights and Dames of theTriveneto region was held on June 10 in the stupendous site of the Patriarchal Basilica of St. Mark the Evangelist in Piazza San Marco in Venice. The ceremony was organized by Delegate Count Roberto Giustiniani and by Vice Delegates Nob.  Federico Bulfone Gransinigh and Knight Commander Lucio Pasqualetto.

    The investiture ceremony and Holy Mass were officiated by the Grand Prior, His Most Eminent and Most Reverend Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino, and concelebrated by Mons. Arnaldo Morandi, Secretary General of the Office of the Grand Prior and Prior for the Lombardy delegation and by Mons. Arnaldo Greco, Prior of the Triveneto Delegation.

    In his homily the Grand Prior spoke of the participation and commitment of the knights and dames of our Order and what they can do to improve the society and environment in which they work, highlighting the importance of defending and exalting the Christian Faith, aiding the needy and exemplifying the principles and teachings of Christianity. His Most Reverend Eminence concluded by outlining the mission of each Delegation to carry out charitable activities  to aid the needy and at the same time to support the training of knights and dames and new members by conducting cultural and religious training sessions.

    Present at the ceremony were H.E. Prince Ruspoli, Grand Chancellor, H.E. Nob. Dott. Alberto Lembo, Grand Inquisitor, as well as numerous civilian and military authorities of the Triveneto Region. Also present were representatives of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and the Order of Saint Mauritius and Lazarus.

    At the conclusion of the investiture ceremony and following the cultural events that included a tour of the Basilica and of a temporary art exhibit in the Museum of Glass on the island of St. George, the Triveneto Delegation, on behalf of its members, made a donation to Monsignor Meneguolo, Knight Commander of Ecclesiastical Grace, to be used for the needy families of the diocese.

  • JUNE 2017 – INVESTITURE CEREMONY IN ACIREALE

    On June 10 the ceremony of investiture welcoming the new Knights and Dames of the Constantinian Order took place in the Cathedral of Maria Santissima Annunziata in Acireale.

    The ceremony was officiated by H.M.R. Mons. Antonino Raspanti, Bishop of Acireale, at the request of His Eminence the Cardinal Grand Prior.

    The Vice Delegate first thanked Mons. Raspanti and then read the letter sent by H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro, Head of the Royal House and Grand Master, congratulating Mons. Raspanti for his recent appointment as President of the C.E.I. (the Italian Episcopal Conference) for Southern Italy. Nob. Dott.  Antonio di Janni then spoke of the many and varied charitable activities that are carried out throughout the island, concluding with what is now the motto of the Sicilian Knights “To be Rather to Seem”, meaning that a Knight must become personally involved in the numerous benevolent activities and must always fight for the Catholic faith.

    At the conclusion of the religious ceremony the knights paid homage to the statue of the Blessed Pius IX, founder of the Diocese of Acireale, before proceeding to the shelter of Madonna della Tenda di Cristo where they brought their monthly donation of food for the residents.  The facility welcomes and cares for single mothers and their children.
