Quarrata (PT), 9 May 2017 – The Knights and Dames of the Tuscany Delegation brought numerous items of baby clothes, toys and food to Mr. Sabino Cialdi, head of the Diocesan Caritas of Santonovo. The items will be distributed to the indigent families of the community. The Knights and Dames also donated food to the Salesian Brothers of the Sacred Heart in Livorno for the needy of the community.

TUSCANY – ACTIVITIES DURING THE MONTH OF APRIL

The Tuscany Delegation commemorated St. George the Martyr, Patron Saint of the Order, by a Holy Mass officiated in the Church of San Jacopo in Acquaviva, in Livorno. The ceremony, celebrated by Don Rodolfo Rossi, Prior of the Tuscany Delegation and concelebrated among others by the Very Reverend Monsignor Giovanni Scarabelli, was attended by numerous Knights and Dames, led by Vice Delegate Edoardo Puccetti, Knight Commander of Merit with Star.
Following a convivial lunch in the halls of the Officers’ Club of the Naval Academy of Livorno, there was a conference on the final actions of two great fleets of the Mediterranean: the navies of the Order of Malta and of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.

CALABRIA – MONTH OF MAY

Calabria – On April 27 H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies went to Calabria for a series of official commitments.
After taking part in the inauguration of the Conference “The Antiquity of the Kingdom, archeology, protection and restoration in the pre-unification south” held in the National Archeological Museum of Reggio Calabria from 26 to 29 April, 2017, H.R.H. the Grand Prefect visited the Maritime Headquarters of Reggio Calabria.

APRIL DISTRIBUTION OF “CRUMBS OF HEALTH” IN SICILY

On Monday, April 24, the Vice Delegate for Sicily, Nob. Dott. Antonio di Janni, donated 800 kilos of pasta to the volunteers of the soup kitchen of San Corrado in the Diocese of Noto. The pasta will be used for the soup kitchen and was purchased and delivered personally by Dott. Antonio di Janni.
Immediately following the delivery of this enormous quantity, the person in charge of the soup kitchen, Brother Rino, accompanied H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect, who was visiting Noto, to the Bishop, His Most Rev. Mons. Antonio Staglianò, Knight Commander of Ecclesiastical Grace. The Bishop expressed his gratitude to the Order for its support to the Diocese through the project Crumbs of Health.
On Friday, April 28, a second “Crumbs of Health” distribution, this time for infants, took place in the premises located next to the Constantinian Church of Maria SS degli Agonizzanti. The diapers, baby food, milk, biscuits, pasta and more were distributed by volunteers coordinated by Cav. Salvatore Vassallo.
On the following day the Vice Delegate brought 40 kilos of pasta and 10 kilos of fish to the soup kitchen of San Mamiliano. The weekly delivery of food helps the soup kitchen provide 100 meals a day to the needy.

750th ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEDICATION OF THE CATHEDRAL OF MONREALE
The 750th anniversary of the Dedication of the Cathedral of Monreale was celebrated on April 26. This was also the date of the 4th anniversary of the appointment of H.R.E. Mons. Michele Pennisi, Ecclesiastical Knight Grand Cross of Grace and Prior of the Delegation, as Archbishop of Monreale.The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided by His Most Rev. Eminence Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco, President of the Italian and Bali’ Episcopal Conference, Knight Grand Cross of Justice of the Constantinian Order.
Many dignitaries were present, including the President of the Sicily Region, the Vice President of the Regional Assembly, the Mayors of Monreale, Palermo and other cities of the archdiocese, the Prefect of Palermo, the Police Commissioner of Palermo and the Interregional Commanders of the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza, in addition to representatives of the Order of St. Gregory the Great, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher and numerous Knights and Dames of our illustrious Constantinian Order.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Eminence Cardinal Bagnasco met with several knights of the Sicilian delegation who explained in detail their involvement in the project “Crumbs of Health” which supports various Sicilian dioceses on a regular basis.
The Vice Delegate, Nob. Dott. Antonio di Janni, gave to Cardinal Bagnasco a copy of the book “The Gospel of Justice” written by the former Grand Prior, the late Cardinal Mario Francesco Pompedda, and published posthumously.

DONATIONS FOR THE PEOPLE AFFECTED BY THE EARTHQUAKE

Spoleto, April 28, 2017 – H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Grand Master, has decided to conclude the collection of funds begun last August for the people struck by the earthquake.
In thanking everyone for their generosity in helping those in difficulty, including non-members of the Constantinian Order, H.R.H. the Grand Master has decided to donate the funds collected to the Archdiocese of Spoleto Norcia.
His Most Reverend Eminence Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino went to Spoleto today to deliver the funds to the Archbishop of Spoleto – Norcia, H.R.E. Mons. Renato Boccardo. The money will be used for the reconstruction of the diocesan pastoral center Madonna delle Grazie in Norcia. The structure was completely destroyed by the earthquake.

LAZIO – FEAST OF ST. GEORGE
Rome, Sunday April 23, Liturgical Memory of St. George the Martyr. The Delegation for Rome and Lazio honored their Patron Saint with a Holy Mass celebrated by the Vice Prior for the city of Rome, Don Roberto Foini. The mass was held in the Chapel of the Blessed J.H. Newman, the Titular Cardinal of the Church of St. George in Velabro.
The Delegation was led by H.H. Prince Don Lelio Niccolò Orsini d’Aragona and by the Vice Delegate for the city of Rome, Count Riccardo Langosco di Langosco.
The indomitable faith of St. George was the focus of the celebration, which concluded with the prayer of the Constantinian Knight recited by all present.

CRUMBS OF HEALTH IN NOTO AND PALERMO

Sicily – On Saturday, April 15, the project Crumbs of Health was implemented in Noto by a donation of numerous items for children ages 0 to 3. The contribution was delivered by Comm. Marcello Cantone who was warmly thanked by His Most Rev. Eminence Mons. Antonio Staglianò, Bishop of Noto and Knight of Ecclesiastical Grace.
The donation included items collected by the Delegation of Calabria. On Thursday, April 18 the weekly collaboration with the soup kitchen established by the church of S. Mamiliano in Palermo continued with a contribution of a significant quantity of fish to be cooked this week by volunteers.

NAPLES – EASTER MEAL FOR THE NEEDY

The Delegation for Naples and Campania organized a benefit meal for approximately 70 needy people who come daily to the soup kitchen managed by the Sisters of Mercy in the Convent of Arco Mirelli. In the past this center was visited by H.R.H. Price Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Grand Master.
The Easter meal is usually dedicated to the memory of Baroness Paola De Lutio de Castelguidone, but this year Counsellor Giovanni de Lutio decided to have the Order participate in this initiative. The Sisters of Mercy, led by Sister Maria, the Polish sister who was the aide to Pope Wotylia, greatly appreciated the support and requested the assistance of the Order in numerous activities.
