  • VALLE D’AOSTA – FIRST STEPS TAKEN IN THE REGION

     aosta1Saint Vincent (AO) 14 March 2017.  The cross of the Constantinian Order made its initial appearance in the Valle d’Aosta by offering a donation of various items. The donation was organized by new member Mirco Ciccarese, together with other  supporters of the Order.

    In accordance with the recommendation of Police Chaplain Don Andrea Marcoz, parish priest of Chatillon (AO), the volunteers decided to donate these items to “Tenda Amica”, a facility that provides nightly lodgings.

    Tenda Amica has eight beds and comes under the supervision of the parish of this spa city. However, it is managed entirely by volunteers and provides its guests with the possibility of a hot shower, a healthy breakfast and a bed for the night.  Guests may use the facility for up to one month.

     

  • SICILY – MEAL AT THE BOCCONE DEL POVERO AND CRUMBS OF HEALTH IN MONREALE

    20170315_150413Palermo, 14 March – On the 150th anniversary of the Founding of Boccone del Povero (morsel for the poor) instituted by the Blessed Giacomo Cusmano, the Knights and Dames of the Sicily Delegation, led by the Vice Delegate, celebrated the event by preparing and serving a meal to approximately 40 inhabitants of the facility.
    At the conclusion of the meal they celebrated Sister Calà for her 60 years of religious service. 20170314_131030_001

    On the following day, Mr. Antonio di Janni, together with Knights Vassallo, Ragusa and Giarrusso, assisted by volunteers, distributed products for 50 children of needy families, aged zero to three years. The items included 75 liters of milk, about 45 packages of diapers, cookies, 80 containers of homogenized food, 70 kilos of pasta and more.

    On that same day, the Vice Delegate, together with His Most Reverent Eminence Mons. Michele Pennisi, Archbishop of Monreale and Prior of the Delegation, conferred the silver medal upon Carabiniere Lieutenant Francesco Vivona, commander of the Carabinieri Operations Center of Monreale. This award was conferred for activities performed by the Lieutenant in favor of the less fortunate.

  • TRIVENETO REGION – PRESENTATION OF LETTERS OF ADMISSION

    PCO Cross 150x150adova – On Saturday, March 11, in the Officers’ Club of Padova, the new knights and members of the Order were introduced to the Delegate for the Triveneto Region, Count Roberto Giustiniani who presented them with their letters of nomination and diplomas.

    The meeting took place in the halls of the Joint Army Club, in  Prato della Valle, as guests of General Antonio Fichera and Lieutenant Colonel Carlo Libanori.

    This was the first of a series of meetings to be held in various cities of  the Triveneto to initiate the Delegation’s assistance and cultural activities.

    In addition to the new members, present at the breakfast were the Prior of the Delegation, Msgr. Arnaldo Greco and new member Msgr. Michele Centomo, Vice Delegates Mr Federico Bulfone Gransinigh and Knight Commander Lucio Pasqualetto, Count Nicolo Giustiniani, Prince Giovanni Alliata di Montereale,  Mr Paolo Cappello, Mr Alberto Lonigo, Mr. Paolo and Nellida Bulfone, Count Francesco di Colloredo Mels and Knight Commander Giorgio Miccoli.

    The Delegate congratulated all present for the prestigious nomination to the Order and, together with Vice Delegate Lucio Pasqualetto, briefly illustrated the activities in which the Delegation will be involved during the first half of the year.

     

  • MONGIANA – CLOTHING DONATION TO THE NEEDY

    ordine costantiniano di san giorgio delegazione calabriaMongiana, 26 February 2017 – The bond between the Delegation of Calabria and the community of Mongiana becomes increasingly stronger. Following the inauguration of the Weapons Factory Museum (MUFAR) in this little town, a ceremony that took place in the presence of local dignitaries and H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect of the Order, the activities carried out by the Knights and Dames to help the less fortunate of the territory has become a constant.

    On February 26, at the conclusion of Holy Mass the parish priest of the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, Don Martin Grogue, and the town Mayor, Dott. Bruno Iorfida, publicly acknowledged and thanked the Delegation for its valuable support.

    The Delegation also presented a donation of a significant amount of clothing to the Diocese.

    On this occasion the Vice Delegate for Calabria also informed of the appointment of Cav. Pasquale Zavaglia as Representative for the Royal Site of Mongiana.

  • MONREALE 2017 –INVESTITURE CEREMONY

    Monreale –  On Saturday, March 4, 2017, the investiture ceremony for the new knights and dames of our Order took place in the Cathedral of Monreale.

    The Solemn Pontifical was officiated by the Grand Prior of the Order, His Most Reverend Eminence Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino, Proto-Deacon of the Holy Roman Church, concelebrated by the Prior for Sicily, His Most Reverend Excellency Mons. Michele Pennisi, Archbishop of Monreale, and by the Eparch of the Diocese of Piana degli Albanesi, His Most Rev. Excellency Mons. Giorgio Demetrio Gallaro.

    The ceremony took place in the presence of H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect, and numerous dignitaries of the Order, including the Delegate for Sicily, Don Lucio Bonaccorsi of the Princes of Reburdone, the Vice Delegate for Sicily, Nob. Antonio di Jani, the Vice Delegate for Tuscany, Edoardo Puccetti, the Vice Delegate for Calabria, Aurelio Badolati. Also present were numerous civilian and military authorities, including the Mayors of Monreale and Barrafranca (EN) and the General of the Carabinieri Legion, Riccardo Galletta.

    During the ceremony Cardinal Martino emphasized the need for the Constantinian knights to be the living symbols of the Christian Cross.  According to His Eminence, Lent should be considered as a period of reflection and rediscovery of the true Christian spirit, a spirit  to be transformed into tangible actions for the benefit of our neighbors,  this being the special prerogative of the knights of our sacred order.

    At the conclusion of the ceremony all present went to the Gala Luncheon held in the Hotel San Paolo Palace of Palermo. During the meal the Mayor of Barrafranca, Fabio Accardi, presented to Princess Beatrice, Grand Prefect, the deliberation of the Municipal Council to dedicate a street to the Blessed Maria Cristina of Bourbon, Queen of the Two Sicilies.  At the end of the evening, the Grand Prefect, on behalf of the Grand Master Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro,  appointed the Vice Delegate for Sicily Antonio di Janni, Knight of Grand Cross of the Royal Order Francis I, rewarding him for his continuous and generous commitment to the needy through the project “Crumbs of Health” and other deserving social, religious and cultural initiatives carried out throughout Sicily.

    On the day prior H.R.H. had met with His Most Reverend Eminence Msgr Michele Pennisi, Archbishop of Monreale, to donate a lifesaving electro medical defibrillator for the Cathedral.

  • ROME – VOLUNTEER WORK IN THE SOUP KITCHEN OF SAN GIACOMO ON VIA DEL CORSO

    CO Cross 150x150Roma, 3 marzo 2017 – H.H. Prince Don Lelio Niccolò Orsini d’Aragona, the Delegate for Rome and Lazio, has decided to institute a group of volunteers of the Constantinian Order, including non-members, to assist the Priest of San Giacomo in Augusta in carrying out charitable activities in the premises of the Parish where the priest provides breakfast to the needy of the neighborhood six days a week.
    Groups of volunteer Knights and Dames will be organized according to the time each can make available. Activities will be coordinated by Dott.ssa Carla Forti Bernini who is the representative for SMOC volunteers for the Parish soup kitchen of San Giacomo in Augusta, on Via del Corso 499.

  • BRESCIA – DONATION FOR PRISON FACILITIES

    2017-03-01-PHOTO-00000472 Thanks to the work of the Knights and Dames of the Brescia-Cremona and Mantova Representation the Lombardy Delegation provided the Diocesan Caritas of Brescia, in response to a specific request, with 30 packages containing 1500 items of  undergarments for men, women and children to be distributed in prison facilities and shelters.

    The donation was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Cotonella Company.

  • BELLINZAGO NOVARESE – DONATION

    novaraBellinzago Novarese, , 22 February 2017 – The fourth phase of the solidarity tour of the Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta Delegation took place on February 22nd .
    Vice Delegate Dott. Mario Baschirotto, accompanied by several Knights and incoming members of the newly constituted Novara and Vercelli Representation donated more than 2400 diapers to the Caritas of Bellinzago Novarese, kindly offered by the Donors Italia non-profit organization
    The Officials and President of the Caritas of Bellinzago Novarese were most appreciative of this initiative.

  • AWARD OF ANCII SCHOLARSHIPS

    CONSIGLIO DIRETTIVONapoli, 25 febbraio 2017 – Naples, 25 February 2017 – The ceremony for the awarding of scholarships for 2016 took place during the course of the Annual Ordinary Assembly of the National Association of Italian Constantinian Knights, held on February 25 in the Circolo Nazionale dell’Unione.
    On this occasion, the three hundredth anniversary of the birth of His Majesty King Charles, the ANCII decided to establish scholarships on the following topic: “The rebirth of the South from Charles of Bourbon to Francis II”.

    Following the initial greetings by the President, Marquis Avv. Giuliano Buccino Grimaldi, and the Treasurer, Nob. Dott. Eugenio Donadoni, the Secretary of the Association, Prof. Avv. Franco Ciufo, awarded diplomas respectively for 4 university theses and 7 articles.

    At the conclusion of the Assembly, H.E. Amb. Count Giuseppe Balboni Acqua, Secretary General of the Order, provided a brief description of an article he had written for Nobiltà, an heraldic review that dedicated the entire January issue to the family of the Bourbons Two Sicilies. The issue also contains another important article by H.E. Nob. Dott. Alberto Lembo, Grand Inquisitor.

  • BRESCIA – FEAST OF THE PATRON SAINTS FAUSTINO AND GIOVITA

    IMG_3470Brescia, 15 February 2017 – Feast in honor of the Holy Martyrs Faustino and Giovita. Several Constantinian Knights and Dames were present in an official capacity for the Pontifical Mass celebrated by the Bishop in the Basilica dedicated to the patron saints of the city of Brescia.

    The Constantinian Order is formally invited to all public ceremonies of the Diocese
    His Eminence the Most Reverend Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino, Grand Prior of the Order, encouraged works of charity carried out in cooperation with Caritas and with Diocesan facilities.
