  • CAMPANIA: SOLEMN MASS AT THE BASILICA OF SAINT CLARE

    On January 18th 2019, the Knights and Ladies of the Guardia d’Onore celebrated with a mass the figure of King Charles of Bourbon, the first King of the Bourbon dynasty. The liturgy took place at the Basilica of Saint Clare (Basilica di Santa Chiara). In the homily, the parish priest of the Basilica exalted the Christian figure of King Charles and his innumerable charitable works, which were carried out thanks to his deep Christian faith. The association “Primo Reggimento Re”, composed of many volunteer experts of military ceremonies, also participated in the eucharistic event.

  • TRH PRINCE CHARLES AND PRINCESS CAMILLA OF BOURBON TWO SICILIES, DUKE AND DUCHESS OF CASTRO, CELEBRATED THEIR 20TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY IN NAPLES TOGETHER WITH TRH PRINCESS MARIA CAROLINA AND PRINCESS MARIA CHIARA

    Rome, November 5th 2018 – TRH Prince Charles and Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies’ official visit to Naples has ended today. Their Royal Highnesses, Duke and Duchess of Castro, accompanied by TRH Princesses Maria Carolina, Duchess of Calabria and Palermo and Maria Chiara, Duchess of Noto and Capri, were in Naples to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary and 25 years of activity of the Neo-Bourbon Movement, engaged by a quarter of the century to defend the identity values of Southern Italy.
    We have chosen to celebrate our anniversary in Naples with so many events also aimed at reviving the glorious memory of one of the largest cities in Europe, thanks to the works created by my ancestors” declared HRH the Duke of Castro. “We came back to this city that we always have in our hearts and that we feel our home because of its splendor, as for the beauty of the people who live it and animate it with pride“. The agenda was full of institutional and social commitments that confirm the Royal Family’s attention towards the Neapolitan territory. On November 3rd, the Royal Family went to the Mediterranean Theater, where the Award “TWO SICILIES – SOUTH EXCELLENCES” took place.

    On Sunday morning Their Royal Highnesses went to the Cardarelli Hospital for the opening of “Insieme a mamma e papà” space, which will be used for welcoming not only the patients’ children, but also those of the hospital staff. After attending the inauguration of the nativity scene of the church of San Ferdinando, they attended the evening Mass at the church of San Francesco di Paola, where they met the delegates of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint Georges.

    On Monday morning TRH visited the historic Marinella atelier, official supplier of the Royal House, which offered a unique scarf to the Dukes of Castro. Later they went to the Royal Palace of Caserta to seal their union and planted a Camelia honoring the family tradition: in 1818, in fact, Queen Maria Carolina of Bourbon paid homage to the Dukes of Castro’s twentieth anniversary of marriage with the same gesture.

    Rome, October 19th 2018 – On the occasion of their twentieth wedding anniversary, TRH Prince Charles and Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke and Duchess of Castro, accompanied by the TRH Princesses Maria Carolina, Duchess of Calabria and Palermo and Maria Chiara, Duchess of Capri and of Noto, will be visiting Naples from November 3rd to November 5th.

    The first official appointment is scheduled for Saturday November 3rd at the Teatro Mediterraneo, Mostra d’Oltremare in Naples. TRH will attend a folkloristic cultural show of Neapolitan style entitled “25 YEARS OF THE NEOBORBONICAL MOVEMENT AND TWO SICILIES AWARD ” where the greatest exponents of the Italian Contemporary Theater will attend. At the end of the show, the Dukes of Castro will celebrate their anniversary together with all the guests.

    On Sunday, November 4th Their Royal Highnesses will be at the Cardarelli Hospital on the occasion of the inauguration of a space dedicated to welcoming not only the children of the patients, but also those of the hospital staff. The Hospital aims at providing concrete support to its employees so as to facilitate a better balance between work and family life.

    During the afternoon, the Dukes of Castro will be visiting the Basilica of San Ferdinando for the inauguration of the nativity scene dedicated to famous men including the statuette of H.M. King Francis II of Bourbon Two Sicilies and afterwards will attend a solemn Mass at the Pontifical Basilica of San Francesco da Paola, organized by the neapolitan delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George.

    Their trip to Naples will end on Monday 5th. After the visit to the historic atelier Marinella, official supplier of the Real House, which on the occasion of their twentieth anniversary will pay homage to the Dukes of Castro of a tie and a scarf made exclusively for celebrating their union, Their Royal Highnesses will also go to the Royal Palace of Caserta where a camelia will be planted in their honor.

  • NAPLES – THE DELEGATION SUPPORTS THE AIRC FOUNDRAISING

    Naples, March, 16th 2018 –  Even this year the Delegation of Naples and Campania participated at the important AIRC fundraising, which took place in Naples. A lot of Easter eggs were sold. Marquise Federica De Gregorio Cattaneo, Delegate for Campania, thanked all the participants and the AIRC Board in her speech.  All the proceeds were given to cancer research. Sveva Donadoni, Stefano Cimaglia Gonzaga, Alfredo Barone Lumaga, Sergio Cappelli, Mariano Bruno, Luigi Andreozzi, Roberta Buccino Grimaldi, Alessandra Sottile d’Alfano (AIRC Advisor) attended the event.

  • AFRAGOLA – DINNER FOR THE NEEDY PEOPLE

    AFRAGOLA (NA) February 17th 2018 –Some Knights and Dames of the Delegation of Naples, guided by Msgr. Mugione, Archbisop Emeritus of Benevento and Prior of the Delegation, organized a dinner for the poorest people at Basilica Pontificia Minore di S. Antonio.

    In particular Mr. Giovanni Barbato and Don Luigi Campoli were in charge of the organization. Lots of Knights and Dames attended and supported the Caritas volunteers in the preparation and distribution of food.

    Afterward a mass took place at the Basilica and was chaired by the Prior of the Delegation.

  • NAPLES – CONFERENCE IN MEMORY OF THE VENERABLE SIXTUS RIARIO SFORZA

The matter was discussed on September 29 in Naples in the course of a conference organized to celebrate the 140th anniversary of the death of the Venerable Cardinal Sixtus Riario Sforza. The meeting was held in the hall of the Library of Castel Capuano, in the presence of the Bishop of Aversa, Angelo Spinillo.

  • BENEFIT MEAL FOR THE CHILDREN OF THE SANITA DISTRICT

    On May 11 the Delegate for Naples and Campania organized an enjoyable and entertaining day for children from four classes of the Russo-Montale Elementary School in the Sanità district of Naples,  where the majority of the children come from poor and troubled families.

    The initiative was undertaken in response to a request made by the Sisters of Mercy of Arco Mirelli, several teachers of the school and the principal Elisabetta Esposito.

    The purpose of the event was to reward all the deserving children who achieved good grades in school in a neighborhood that tends not to encourage the importance of education.

    The Delegate, aided by Marquis Leopoldo de Gregorio Cattaneo and by Giovanni and Hannelise de Lutio di Castelguidone decided to reward 70 children by taking them to see a movie, offering them popcorn, followed by a visit to Macdonald’s, ice cream and finally a visit to a playground so that  the children could enjoy a carefree afternoon.

    The day was a great success for both children and teachers as they expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Constantinian Order for this wonderful and commendable initiative.

  • NAPLES – PROCESSION OF SAN GENNARO

    Naples, 6 May 2017. A group of Knights and Dames of the Naples and Campania Delegation took part in the procession bearing the ampoule containing the blood of the Martyr and Patron Saint of Naples from the Cathedral of Naples to the Basilica of Santa Chiara, where Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe celebrated Mass.
    On this occasion the representatives of the Order, together with all present, witnessed the miracle of the liquefaction of the blood of the Saint.

  • NAPLES – EASTER MEAL FOR THE NEEDY

    The Delegation for Naples and Campania organized a benefit meal for approximately 70 needy people who come daily to the soup kitchen managed by the Sisters of Mercy in the Convent of Arco Mirelli. In the past this center was visited by H.R.H. Price Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Grand Master.

    The Easter meal is usually dedicated to the memory of Baroness Paola De Lutio de Castelguidone, but this year Counsellor Giovanni de Lutio decided to have the Order participate in this initiative. The Sisters of Mercy, led by Sister Maria, the Polish sister who was the aide to Pope Wotylia, greatly appreciated the support and requested the assistance of the Order in numerous activities.

  • IMG_3434Napoli – A holy mass for the knights and dames of the delegation was celebrated on January 29 in the Oratory of the Assumption in the Girolamini Monumental Complex on Via Duomo in Naples. The mass was officiated by Father Andrea Cabes, Knight of Ecclesiastical Grace and Rector of the Sanctuary of our Lady of Lourdes.

    This was an important moment for the Delegation, both because the mass was celebrated in an architectural jewel that is normally closed to the public and because of the participation of the group of volunteers from the Honor Guard for the Royal Sepulchers of the Bourbon Sovereigns.

    Father Cabes was in Naples as the guest of Knight Commander Angelo Marciano, responsible for the pilgrimages of the Constantinian Order and Counselor for the Delegation. Father Cabes, invited by Vice Delegate Mariano Bruno, was present for the opening of the Consular Year, held at the Circolo dell’Unione, together with representative Knights and Dames.
