Naples – In December the Delegation resumed its activity of providing complete assistance to the less fortunate by restoring and repairing the Constantinian Medical Clinic.

The Delegate, Marchioness Federica de Gregorio Cattaneo of the Princes of Sant’Elia has decided to confirm as head of the facility Dott. Luigi Andreozzi, who had managed the facility in the past with effectiveness and dedication.

This is a critically important group consisting of more than 20 physicians with different specialties, supported by a volunteer nursing staff, who follow an efficient schedule to provide free medical care. Among the many people who benefited from this service was a young homeless woman came to the Constantinian clinic as she was preparing to give birth.

Thanks to the effective intervention of the doctors at the Clinic the woman gave birth to the infant in the Naples Hospital Loreto Mare.

The Delegation collected funds for the newborn and  thanks to Dott. Luigi Andreozzi, mother and child were welcomed on 27 January in the “Casa di Tonia” shelter, founded and managed by His Eminence Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Bailiff Knight Grand Cross of Justice of our Order.

With the help of Father Luigi Castiello, and under the supervision of the Campania Delegation, on March 5 the child was christened “Aurora Beatrice”,  in honor of H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, who was in Naples at the time.

The month of January began with a private visit to Naples by H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect of the Constantinian Order.

Her Royal Highness visited Naples together with several prestigious guests  interested in the Royal Bourbon sites and the history of the great and valuable creations produced by the Royal House, such as the ancient silk works of San Leucio and the Capodimonte porcelain.

The Delegate assisted the illustrious guests by organizing several visits, including to the National Archeological Museum of Naples, where there was an exhibit on Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies and as well as a display of several pieces lent by H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Head of the Royal House. The group also visited the Zevallos Palace to see the extraordinary exhibit of Salvatore Fergola, painter for the Bourbon Court. They were  accompanied and guided by a descendant of the painter and well known antique dealer, Luigi Schisano, Knight of Merit with Star.

After visiting the Royal Palace of Caserta and the San Leucio silk works, the Princess and her guests, three important patrons and lovers of music and art history, enjoyed a “typical” dinner, a sumptuous meal with all the elements that are so characteristic of the Parthenopean tradition, as guests of notary Cappelli.  In addition to the Delegate of the Order,  Marchioness Federica de Gregorio Cattaneo of the Princes of Sant’Elia, invited guests also included two professors from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Naples, currently working on a project on the “Grand Tour”  and who explained a great deal about the history of art in the city of Naples.  On the following day, the Marquises Leopoldo and Federica de Gregorio Cattania of the Princes of Sant’Elia hosted a reception for Princess Beatrice and her guests in their residence at Palazzo Ischitella. Also invited were the Council members of the Naples and Campania Delegation and several guests from the more important cultural associations of the city, including the “Friends of Capodimonte”.

Naples, Saturday 11 June 2016, at 1800 hours, The Royal and Pontifical Basilica of San Francesco da Paola hosted a mandolin concert organized by the Naples and Campania Delegation, in collaboration with the Italian Mandolin Federation.
On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of King Charles III Bourbon Two Sicilies, the Delegate, Marchese Pierluigi Sanfelice di Bagnoli and President of the Association, Antonio Di Mauro, offered the Knights and Dames of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George and the people of Naples a celebration concert titled “A Concert for Naples, A Concert for Charles”, performed by the Mandolin School of Ripalimosani, pride of the community of the Molise. The concert was presented by Patrizio Rispo and enjoyed tremendous success.
An exceptional guest was Mrs. Yumiko Seki, First Mandolin for the Plectrum Orchestra of Tokyo.

Naples, 23^rd – 24^th April 2016.  H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and Grand Master of the Constantinian Order, went to visit Naples to attend the solemnity of Saint George the Martyr, Patron of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George.

The 23^rd April was an eventful and busy day for H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies who, accompanied by the Delegate for Naples and Campania, Marquis Don Pierluigi Sanfelice di Bagnoli, visited the city of Pompei.

Afterwards, H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies visited and inaugurated the Pompei Polyclinic, one of the “social voluntary” units which is most responsive to the needs of the region.

At 6 p.m., a solemn Eucharistic Ceremony with the Investiture Rite of new Knights and Dames was held at the Constantinian Pontifical Basilica of San Francesco da Paola.  The ceremony was presided over by the Prior of the Delegation, the Most Reverend Father Damiano La Rosa, Ecclesiastical Knight Commander of Grace.

On Sunday, 24^th April, at 11.45, he visited the Basilica of Santa Lucia a Mare where H.R.H. Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies hosted a lunch for the poorer members of the community of Pallonetto Santa Lucia and, through the Constantinian Order, was “actually near” a poor family of Pallonetto and hand over a cheque to Father Giuseppe Carmelo for the purchase of an iron door.

H.E. the Grand Inquisitor, Don Fabrizio Cononna of the Princes of Paliano was also present during these two very busy and eventful days.

Naples, 1^st April 2016.  On the occasion of the sixth birth centenary of Saint Francesco Da Paola, a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by His Eminence Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, was held at 5 p.m. in the Basilica, named after the Saint, in Piazza del Plebiscito where the relic of the “Rib” of Saint Francesco is preserved.  The celebration, co-celebrated also by the Very Reverend Father Damiano La Rosa, Ecclesiastical Knight Commander of Grace and Prior of the Delegation, was attended by many Knights and Dames of our Order who walked in procession with the Constantinian Labarum.

Caserta, 31^st January 2016.  H.R.H. Don Alessandro of Bourbon Two Sicilies officiated the Eucharistic Celebration in honour of Blessed Maria Cristina at the Church in Vaccheria solemnly dedicated to Santa Maria delle Grazie. The ceremony was organized by the Delegation for Naples and Campania, the Association for Cultural Conventions “Maria Cristina di Savoia” and the Institute for Historical Research of the Two Sicilies. The Church in Vaccheria was chosen because Queen Maria Cristina, called by the Neapolitan inhabitants “The Holy Young Queen”, donated some sacred vestments which she herself had made using the fabrics of San Leucio. For this occasion, the place of worship was decorated by the Garden Club of Caserta and the hymns were sung by the choir of the Music Association “Resonare Fibris” conducted by Maestro Guglielmo De Maria.

Caserta, 19^th November 2015.  The Knights of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George of Liburia held a meeting that was opened by the Delegate Marquis Pierluigi Sanfelice di Bagnoli who expressed the wish to see a group of Knights and Dames set up in the Caserta representation.  He said this group would have to be operational and proactive and advocated the establishment of a “satellite” branch of the Naples headquarters, capable of emulating, over a short period, the same type of projects implemented in the Campania capital, starting from charity to voluntary associations in the province – like the Diocesan Caritas – and ending up with the creation of an Outpatient Clinic for most deprived persons.  Knights Francesco Salemi, Alberto Zaza d’Aulisio, Giancarlo Rinaldi and Romano Naschi contributed actively to the discussions by suggesting many practical proposals.

Aversa, 18^th November 2015.  Delegate Pierluigi Sanfelice di Bagnoli, accompanied by Knights Maurizio Barbato and Giuseppe D’Amico, and by the Meritorious Giovanni Cimino, went to the Stand-By Operational Centre of the Aversa Group of the Financial Police to collect a Fiat Ducato which the  court of Naples donated to the Campana Delegation of the Constantinian Order.  Marquis Sanfelice declared that this van would be made available to the Rescue Group of the Delegation so that it could use it for their “Civil Protection” activities.  Marquis Sanfelice later met and thanked Captain Filippo Santorelli and his team for their assistance in getting the Court to allocate the vehicle.
