On Sunday 22 April the eucharistic celebration in honor of Saint George, patron of the Sacred Military Constatinian Order of Saint George was celebrated at the church “Maria SS.ma Annunziata” of Castelvetrano.
In the Church there is an ancient and artistic triptych of 1448 which represents the ancient iconography of Saint George. Lots of Knights of the province of Trapani attended. The mass was celebrated by Father Rino Randazzo, who also thanked the Order for its charitable activities, in particular for those related to “Briciole di Salute”.

 
The same day a mass was celebrated  for Saint George at the Church of S. Stefano (Piazza Armerina). It was presided by His Eminence Nino Rivoli. Some knights of the province of Enna and Caltanissetta took part in the ceremony.

 

 

 

 

 
A mass for Saint George, Protector of the Sacred Military Constatinian Order Of Saint George, was celebrated in Palermo. HRH Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect was present. The liturgy was celebrated by HE Salvatore Grimaldi in the presence of a lot of Sicilian Knights.

April, 9th 2018 in Vittoria (RG), some Knights of the Sicilian delegation met Father Beniamino Sacco who manages the centre “Buon Samaritano”. This centre hosts lots of refugees so that they can be absorbed again in society in an immediate future.
For the occasion the Sicilian Knights described the project “Briciole di Salute” which has been strongly desired by the Sicilian delegation. The delegation donated candies and food to more than 140 guests of the centre.

 

On April, 8th 2018 some Sicilian Knights donated some candies and food to the Romanian people in Catania in the occasion of their Easter celebration.

On April, 3rd 2018 the Mission “Speranza e Carità” received an important gift the Mission was lack of, a washing machine, by the Sicilian delegation.

Sicilian Knights and Dames attended the Easter catechesis, presided by Msgr. Gaetano Tulipano at “Chiesa della Magione” (Palermo). This Christian training was strongly desired by our Grand Prior, His Eminence Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino.

 

 

 

 
On March 31st the monthly distribution of food, tomatos, canned tuna and other products took place in Noto. These products were given to Fra Volantino, director of S. Corrado canteen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the context of the 750th anniversary of the Monreale Cathedral, the archdiocese of the town promoted several cultural initiatives in order to underline the historical and artistic importance of that event. An exhibit, whose title is “Il Tempio d’Oro. Toto orbe terrarum pulcherrimum et celeberrimum. Epifanie del sacro nell’Arcidiocesi di Monreale”, has been organized. It displays lots of artworks which belong to the Cathedral itself and to other churches.  The Sicilian delegation gave its own contribution to the exhibit providing some pictures of the Archbishops which were kept in its database.These pictures were used to set up the panels of the show.

 

 

 

 

 

 

On March, 25th some Knights and Dames of the Sicilian delegation partecipated at the solemn ceremony where palms were blessed at Monreale Cathedral. The Pontifical High Mass was presided by H.Eminence Msgr. Michele Pennisi, Archbishop of Monreale and Prior of the Sicilian delegation.

 

On March, 24th the Vice Delegate of Sicily and some Knights of the delegation were received by H. Eminence Msgr. Guglielmo Giombanco, Bishop of Patti. Dr. Di Janni described to the Bishop all the activities the delegation is involved in. They agreed on a date for a defibrillator delivery in Tindary. At the end of the meeting the Vice Delegate gave him the Medal of the Jubilee of the seventeenth anniversary of the Edict of Constantine.

 

 

 

 

 

Briciole di Salute monthly donation took place the same day in Trapani. Indeed, other Knights and Dames of the delegation offered lots of products for children to the deacon Peppuccio Riccobono, representing Don Alberto Giardina.

 

 

On March, 16th the Vice Delegate of Sicily, with some Knights of the delegation, donated the monthly amount of fish to S. Mamiliano canteen, created by Msgr. Bucaro and run by some volunteers.

 

 

 

 

 

The same day a pretty decent quantity of medicines was offered to the Vincentian nuns of the centre of Palermo.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

During the month the delegation also donated some packages of food and candies to Madonna della Tenda di Cristo, a structure which hosts women who have been harassed and their children.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On March, 13th 2018 a semi-automatic defibrillator was donated to “Casa della Comunità Speranza” by the Sicilian delegation. This donation was adressed to the Diocese in Mazara del Vallo. H. Eminence Msgr Domenico Mogavero decided to devolve it to “Casa della Comunità Speranza”, which is run by the Franciscan nuns. Thanks to the volunteers’ permanent commitment, lots of migrants can take part in the sport activities of the Community.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On March 14th the usual distribution took place. The Vice Delegate and some Knights and Dames of the delegation donated nappies, biscuits, products for children and milk to 50 families.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Sicilian Delegation donated lots of tracksuits for children to Mission “Speranza e Carità” which hosts needy mothers with their children. The donation was made by the Vice Delegate and by Msgr. Grimaldi on March, 9th. On March, 10th the Vice Delegate and Mr. Nuccio donated several kilos of fish to the Mission.
