Brescia, May 15th, 2019 – Salvi Nicola, Daniele Gavezzoli, Fabio Iapichino, Pietro Santacroce, Claudio Gaole, Giuseppe Scolaro and Marco Morzenti proceeded to acquire and deliver food that will meet the needs of several families in need in Brescia.
Stefano Villotta and Bartolomeo Bonafede have been active in the search for some of the products mentioned above.
As part of the charitable activities carried out by the Ligurian delegation, each week a group of volunteers donates food packages for families or people living alone. The reports that reach the delegation are increasing constantly.
Brescia, May 7th, 2019 – On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the genocide in Rwanda, the Provincial Section of the Italian Red Cross in Brescia, together with the president, Dr. Carolina David, extended the invitation to the projection of the film ” Rwanda – the film “to the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George with which a fruitful collaboration has been launched some time ago. Mr. Daniele Gavezzoli represented the Order, under Msgr. Morandi’s mandate.
At the end of the film, five of the forty-one Rwandans adopted in Brescia in 1994 talked about their personal histories.
Montecarlo (Lucca), May 8th, 2019 – Mr. Daniele Romanelli, representative for the city of Pistoia, assisted by Antonio Vignali and Marco Meucci, on behalf of the Delegation of Tuscany, handed over Mr. Andrea Simoncini, head of the children’s home “Peace” of Montecarlo (Lucca), lots of products. The donation is part of the project “Briciole di salute”.
On April 23rd 2019, St. George’s Day, a solemn investiture ceremony was held for the Triveneto delegation at the Basilica of Saint George. The current civil and military authorities, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and many Knights and Dames of the Order were present. 19 new confreres were also appointed. The rite of investitures and Mass were preceded by an intense and highly appreciated spiritual retreat, dictated by Bishop Antonio Meneguolo, Archdeacon of the Patriarchal Basilica of San Marco. The ceremony and the Mass were presided by Mgr. Meneguolo, representing the Prior of Triveneto HE Msgr. Francesco Moraglia. Archbishop Arnaldo Morandi, Secretary General of the Office of H. E. the Grand Prior and H.E. Dom. Norberto Villa Abate Benedictine from Praglia also participated. The participation of Mr. Giampaolo Grazian, Secretary General of the Order, was particularly appreciated. The Delegate and Vice Delegates of Triveneto, Prince Don Giovanni Alliata, Mr. Alberto Lonigo, Vanni Feresin and Mr. Giuseppe Rizzani, Vice Delegate of Lombardy attended as well. At the end of the ceremony, the participants gathered at Circolo della Vela for a lunch.
Livorno, May 4th, 2019 – The vice delegate introduced the book “La Grande Mattanza” in the Congress Hall of the Grand Hotel Palazzo in Livorno. The event was organized by the Tuscan Delegation. The author of the book is Mr. Enzo Ciconte, professor of organized crime history at the University of Rome. At the end, the vice delegate gave a certificate of thanks to Professor Ciconte for his valuable contribution. He was also honored by Mrs. Sara Vannucci, Vice President of the company “I Profumi del Marmo”, with a precious perfume.
On Friday, 31st May 2019 at 6.00 pm a Solemn Mass, in commemoration of HM Ferdinand II, King of the Two Sicilies, will take place at the Basilica San Francesco di Paola, in Naples, in the presence of HRH Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro, Head of the Royal House and Grand Master of the Dynastic Orders.

On April 18th the delegation of Sicily participated in the solemn liturgy of Holy Thursday at the Basilica Trinità la Magione in Palermo. The ceremony was presided by parish priest Salvatore Grimaldi. Mr. Claudio Ragusa, together with Mr. Antonio Mangano and Mrs. Maria Antonia Spagnolo, also offered two Easter eggs and other products for the needy of the parish.
On April 23rd, a mass was celebrated on the occasion of the solemnity of Saint George at the church San Francesco di Paola in Palermo.
Mr. Massimo Putrino and Mr. Giancarlo Greco attended the Holy Thursday Mass on April 18th at the church San Giuseppe in Acireale.
On April 23rd, St. George’s Day, Patron of our Order, a Mass was celebrated in Piazza Armerina, in the presence of some Knights and Dames of the provinces of Enna and Caltanissetta.
On April 19th, a group of knights attended the celebrations of Holy Friday in Montelepre.
On April 27th, the vice delegate, accompanied by Mr. Spezia, delivered to the Caritas parish of S. Anna in Balestrate some products for the early childhood.
On April 30th, Mr. Giulio Pillitteri delivered two metal shelves for the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Corleone. The shelves will allow a better arrangement of food.
On the occasion of the Divine Mercy Sunday, a statue of Saint George was donated by the Barons Salamone to the Mother Church of Castel di Tusa. At the end of the ceremony, Barons Salamone organised a reception in their medieval castle.
