  • FESTIVITY OF THE HOLY CROSS IN ABRUZZO AND MOLISE

    DSC_0762 (2)On September 14 the Knights and Dames of the Abruzzo and Molise delegation, as well as their families, assembled in the Marian Sanctuary of Castelpetroso (IS) to celebrate the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

    At the conclusion of the procession Don Francesco Ferro, Knight of Ecclesiastical Grace, celebrated Holy Mass. In so doing he spoke of the importance of the Feast in the Christian world and its meaning for the Constantinian Militia, remembering the Special Indulgence awarded to participants by our Holy Father Pope Francis.

    The liturgy ended with benediction of the relic of the wood of the cross by Knight of Ecclesiastical Grace don Natalino di Rienzo. This important festivity marked the beginning of the 2017 spiritual retreat for Knights of the Delegation which lasted until Saturday 16 September. Approximately 60 Knights, Dames and applicants participated, coordinated by the Delegate, Mr Franco Ciufo, as well as local families and dignitaries.

  • SICILY – FEAST OF THE HOLY CROSS

    The Exaltation of the Holy Cross is one of the principal activities for members of the Constantinian order and as such is solemnly celebrated throughout Sicily, with ceremonies in Acireale (CT), Milazzo and Palermo.
    A great number of Knights, Dames and Volunteers participated in the ceremony in each of these locations, demonstrating a positive response to the invitation of His Most Rev. Eminence the Cardinal Grand Prior to celebrate this fixed appointment with dignity.

  • LOMBARDY – FEAST OF THE EXALTATION OF THE HOLY CROSS – 14 SEPTEMBER 2017

    89186f55-a4a3-401d-8cb9-cb88e0d8eaa6The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was celebrated by the Lombardy Delegation in an atmosphere of sober solemnity in the parish church of San Gottardo, Brescia, site of the Prior of Lombardy Mons. Arnaldo Morandi, Secretary General of the Office of the Grand Prior.

    Holy Mass was celebrated by Mons. Pierantonio Bodini, Knight of Ecclesiastical Grace and canon of the patriarchal basilica of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. Present for the ceremony were Vice Delegate Mr. Giuseppe Rizzani, provincial representatives, the chaplain for Monza Brianza Don Michele Somaschini and a great number of knights and dames of the Constantinian Order.

    Authorities present included the provincial delegate of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher, Mr Claudio Andreoli. The celebration was followed by a fraternal agape whose proceeds will be used for the charitable activities of the Order.

  • TUSCANY – DONATION OF DEFIBRILLATOR

    Avenza (MS), 7 September 2017 – Knights of the Tuscany Delegation, led by Vice Delegate Knight Commander Edoardo Puccetti, donated a technologically advanced defibrillator to Don Marino Novalesi of the Church of St. Peter the Apostle in Avenza to be used by parish oratory directed by the ANSP P.G. Club Frassati.
    The donation is part of the project “A defibrillator for every province” established by the Tuscany Delegation.

  • ABRUZZO AND MOLISE – DONATION TO THE AFGHAN PEOPLE

    DSCN0176The Abruzzo and Molise Delegation completed a significant collection of goods to be donated to the Afghan people, victims of a long and cruel war. The food, medical and clerical items for children attending school were sent by the Knights of Abruzzo-Molise to Herat where they were given to Captain Gianluca Mineo, an aspirant to the Constantinian Cross and to Brother Captain Federico Pirola, who have been working with the Italian Armed Forces for several months in the peace mission Resolute Support – Afghanistan/Herat.

  • MESSAGE OF HIS EMINENCE THE GRAND PRIOR ON THE FEAST OF THE EXALTAITON OF THE CROSS – 14 SEPTEMBER 2017

    CO Cross 150x150 Rome, 1 September 2017 – With the approach of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, His Eminence the Most Reverend Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino, Grand Prior, drafted a message directed to all the Knights and Dames encouraging them to live this festivity fully as this particular commemoration, together with the festivity of St. George, is a statutory festivity of our Order.

  • HISTORICAL CONFERENCE IN ROSSANO

    2On August 12 the Calabria Delegation assembled once again in the city of Rossano thanks to the generous hospitality of the Amarelli Company. The day was filled with events, beginning with a visit to the splendid Amarelli Museum, followed by Holy Mass officiated by Vice Prior, Monseigneur Antonio Morabito, in the Patrician Chapel of the Amarelli Factory.

  • DELIVERY OF ESSENTIAL SUPPLIES, PISA

    02 Pisa, 8 August 2017. The Knights and Dames of the Tuscany Delegation delivered essential supplies to Don Augusto Tollon, priest of the Parish of Carmine dei Padri Carmelitani in Pisa. The items will be distributed among the needy families of the area. This donation is part of the Project “The Hunger of our Neighbors”, a program established by and strongly supported by H.R.H. the Grand Master.

  • LOMBARDY – DOUBLE DONATION OF CLOTHING

    2017-08-04-PHOTO-00000792Brianza, 3 August 2017 – This morning a group of Knights from the Lombardy Delegation met with the Mayor of Alzate Brianza, Massimo Gherbesi, to deliver coats and sweaters for the Municipal Clothing Dispensary.

    Present for the donation were Counselor Daniela Maroni, the Mayor of Alzate Massimo Gherbesi, Knight Luigi Rogliano, representing Lecco, Selectpersons Regina Mauri and Sergio Molteni, the Mayor of Monguzzo, Marco Sangiorgio, the representative for the San Vincenzo De Paoli Association Valentina Zanussa and volunteer Patrizia Agliati. This donation is intended to support the Municipal Clothing Dispensary that, together with the towns of Anzano del Parco, Monguzzo, Orsenigo and Alserio, has created a circuit of assistance and support to needy families who will be able to request clothing. The items will be delivered anonymously by volunteers.
    “This is an undertaking that I have initiated because it is only with tangible gestures that we can provide some relief to people in difficulties – explains Counsellor Daniela Maroni – The meeting with the delegation of the Constantinian Order of Saint George was important because it is thanks to their assistance that I was able to distribute thousands of items of clothing. We will shortly also be going to Bassone to bring dozens of items for the female section of the Institute.

    In September we will also be able to donate toys and school supplies. I believe that one gesture is worth more than a thousand words”.

    The activities carried out by the town of Alzate Brianza are worthy of note as, in addition to supporting these direct donations, it also collaborates with the Gemma Project of Costamasnaga which focuses on the needs of small children and with the initiative of young people who use their vacation time to travel to poor villages in other continents to offer their assistance. They are provided with gift packages containing clothing to be distributed to hospitals or shelters.
    Regional Counsellor Daniela Maroni issued a press release (No. 27/17) to publicize an additional donation of 1600 items of clothing for the solidarity center of Como, provided by the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, thanks to the support of Vice Delegate Mr Giuseppe Rizzani and the Knights and Dames of the Delegation.
