  • CALABRIA: CERIMONIA DI INVESTITURA A TROPEA

    Tropea, 30 ottobre 2019 – .La presenza di S.A.R. la Principessa Beatrice di Borbone delle Due Sicilie, Gran Prefetto dell’Ordine Costantiniano ha reso ancora più indimenticabile la Solenne cerimonia di Investitura di Tropea.
    Durante la mattinata il Gran Prefetto si è recata presso l’antico e nobile sedile di Porto Ercole, dove ad attenderla vi erano il sindaco della città, Avv. Giovanni Macrì e Monsignor Ignazio Toraldo di Francia.
    Successivamente, S.A.R. la Principessa Beatrice è stata accompagnata per una visita guidata nel suggestivo centro storico.. Raggiunta la concattedrale di Maria Santissima di Romania, Sua Altezza Reale si è raccolta in un momento di preghiera dinanzi alla tomba del Beato Don Mottola. Successivamente, ha raggiunto l’antica e splendida sede della nobile Congrega dei Bianchi di San Nicola, dove ad attenderla vi erano i confratelli della Congrega ed i soci del club UNESCO di Tropea, rispettivamente rappresentati dal priore Dr. Giuseppe Adilardi e dal presidente Dr. Giuseppe Romano; l’ufficiale incontro è stato ricco di spunti di riflessione storica sulla storia di Tropea e della sua importanza durante il Regno delle Due Sicilie, al termine uno scambio di doni ha suggellato la significante e memorabile visita.
    Nel pomeriggio la Solenne Investitura è stata preceduta dalla cerimonia dei nuovi aderenti alla Reale Accademia Filarmonica di Gerace con dichiarazione di fedeltà. Al termine di questa primo cerimoniale, è giunta la lunga processione dei cavalieri e delle dame, che partiti dall’Antico Sedile di Porto Ercole, ha raggiunto la concattedrale di Maria Santissima di Romania per la Solenne Investitura. La celebrazione eucaristica è stata presieduta dall’Arcivescovo emerito di Reggio Calabria-Bova Monsignor Vittorio Luigi Mondello, Priore della Delegazione Calabria. La chiesa era gremita di cavalieri e di persone giunte anche da fuori regione. Da registrare la presenza di numerose autorità, i sindaci del comprensorio, il Direttore Marittimo della Calabria C.V. (CP) Antonio Ranieri, il sindaco di Tropea Avv. Giovanni Macrì, il vice-sindaco della città di Vibo Valentia Ing. Giovanni Russo e il Presidente del Consiglio Comunale della città di Cosenza Dr. Pierluigi Caputo. Anche la Delegazione di Tropea del Sovrano Militare Ordine di Malta ha presenziato all’importante celebrazione con una rappresentanza di Dame e Cavalieri.
    Un coinvolgete coro polifonico ha accompagnato l’emozionante liturgia.
    Al termine della celebrazione la serata è proseguita con il concerto della Banda Città Metropolitana di Reggio Calabria, istituita dalla Reale Accademia Filarmonica di Gerace. Dopo i saluti di rito e lo scambio di doni, è stata ufficialmente conferita la medaglia d’Oro dell’Ordine Costantiniano al gonfalone della città di Tropea.

  • CALABRIA: THE DAY OF CHRISTIANITY

    Canna (CS), August 10th, 2019 – The Calabrian delegation met in Canna to honor the Venerable Chapel under the title of Sant’Antonio Abate of Vienna.

     The event’s goal was to spread awareness about the aristocratic chapel belonging to the Bruni-Campolongo family; it was a research work carried out by Mr. Roberto Campolongo on religious sources contained in a short booklet that will be published soon. On this occasion, the delegation of Calabria, led by the vice delegate, showed its proximity to the territory, visiting the historic center of the city of Oriolo and in particular the Duomo. Then, the sumptuous castle of Oriolo was visited. After the visit to Oriolo Castle, the mayor of Oriolo and the vice delegate decided to plan a path of spiritual growth and of cultural and historical promotion of the village, through the organisation of a second “day of Christianity”, scheduled for August 10th, 2020 in Oriolo, where a debate will take place on local history and Christianity, accompanied by a concert and enriched by a buffet.

     Afterwards, the knights and dames of the Order marched in a short procession in the historic center of Canna and were then welcomed by Father Pierfrancesco Diego.

     The residents of Canna, the CISOM delegation of Cosenza (Italian Order of Malta Relief Corps) and other local officials attended.

  • CALABRIA: THE DELEGATION’S SUMMER ACTIVITIES

    A group of knights and volunteers donated several products in favour of the poor families of the community at Sant ‘Andrea Apostolo church in Parghelia in the presence of Bishop Giuseppe Florio.

    The following days, they spent a wonderful evening in the old Porto Santa Venera, now known as Vibo Marina. The afternoon began with the Eucharistic celebration at the sanctuary of Maria SS. of the Rosary of Pompei, presided by Bishop Saverio Di Bella. Subsequently, an excellent concert of classical music took place. The day was organized by Mr. Giuseppe Spera, commander of the Coast Guard of Vibo Valentia Marina.

  • CALABRIA: SOLEMN CELEBRATION IN TROPEA

    On June 29th, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Father Francesco Mottola, the Calabrian delegation took part in the solemn celebration at the concathedral of the Most Holy Mary of Romania in Tropea. The day began with a moment of prayer in front of the tomb, where the Vice Delegate handed over the insignia of the Order to Archbishop Filippo Ramondino, as well as the letter of appointment as Ecclesiastical Knight of Grace and Chaplain of the city of Vibo Valentia. Subsequently, the delegation participated in a mass.

  • CALABRIA: VISIT IN COSENZA

    On June 16th, the Calabrian delegation, led by the vice delegate and by Mr. Giuseppe Spizzirri Marzo, representative for the city of Cosenza, visited the city of Cosenza. In the morning, all knights and dames, as well as their families and friends, were able to visit some parts of the old city to rediscover their historic and artistic beauties. Afterwards, they visited the church of Santa Maria delle Vergini where a mass was concelebrated with prayers in Latin by Msgr. Luigi Cannizzo, Vice Prior of the delegation, and Msgr. Dario de Paola. During the celebration, the latter was appointed as knight of ecclesiastical grace. The day ended with a donation to Monastero delle Vergini. 

  • CALABRIA AND SICILY: DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY IN CAPIZZI

    On April 28th, a solemn religious ceremony was held in Capizzi. Many faithful took part in the ceremony presided by the archpriest Father Antonio Cipriano. The two delegations were present alongside the Vice Delegate of Sicily, the Vice Delegate of Calabria, Mr. Letterio Donato and Mrs. Santina Ferlito. There was also a procession in the city. At the end of the mass, the archpriest went to the church of Our Lady of Graces and, after paying homage to the statue of the Virgin, the procession continued with the statue. In the afternoon, at the end of an intense and moving day, the delegation of Sicily offered two wheelchairs to the Calabrian delegation. These wheelchairs will be used to help people with reduced mobility.

  • CALABRIA: PILGRIMAGE

    On April 4th, the Knights and Dames of the Delegation of Calabria went to a Pilgrimage to Umbria. On the morning of April 5th, after a brief visit in the city of Cascia, the first liturgical event took place with participation in the Holy Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Luigi Cannizzo, at the Basilica of Santa Rita da Cascia. At the end of the celebration, the delegation had the opportunity to enter the chapel for a brief and intense moment of prayer. In the afternoon, having arrived in Roccaporena, the pilgrims participated in the ritual of the Via Crucis. In the first hours of the following day, the Delegation went to Assisi, where the visit of the city took place and the Holy Mass was celebrated. The intense day in the city of Assisi ended, in the late afternoon, with the participation in the celebration of the Rosary.  The following day the delegation visited Caserta. At the end of this pilgrimage, the Vice Delegate Aurelio Badolati said: “I am happy for this beautiful Pilgrimage. It is a journey that began four years ago with the first pilgrimage in the city of San Francesco da Paola“; -and again- “During these four years there have been many achievements, thanks to the collaboration of all. I am convinced that in the future we will take so many satisfactions on the path of Faith and Solidarity. “

  • CALABRIA: MSGR. PIZZIMENTI WAS GIVEN THE INSIGNIA OF COMMANDER OF ECCLESIASTICAL GRACE

    Reggio Calabria, March 14th, 2019 –  Msgr. Vincenzo Pizzimenti was delivered the insignia of Commendador of Ecclesiastical Grace at the Church La Candelora. A solemn liturgy took place and was presided by H.E. Reverend Msgr. Vittorio Mondello, Archbishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Reggio Calabria-Bova and Prior of the Delegation of Calabria, Msgr. Luigi Cannizzo, Vice Prior of the Delegation of Calabria, Msgr. Filippo Ramondino, Director of the Archives of the Diocese of Mileto-Nicotera -Tropea and Chaplain for the province of Vibo Valentia, and Father Aldo Ripepi. The Eucharistic ceremony was attended by many Knights, guided by the vice delegate and several Civil and Military Authorities. Msgr. Vincenzo Pizzimenti wanted to thank the Constantinian Order for the important insignia he received.

  • CALABRIA: VISIT IN MONTEROSSO CALABRO

    On March 9th, the delegation of Calabria decided to spend a whole day in Monterosso Calabro. In the early afternoon, the delegation, headed by Mr. Aurelio Badolati, vice delegate, went to the town hall where Mayor Antonio Lampasi was waiting for them During the meeting with the mayor, they focused on the importance of the activities carried out in favor of those who suffer. Later, a walk was made in the old town. Later, the Museum of the Rural and Artisanal Civilization of Calabria was visited. At the end of the visit, the Knights made a donation to the poor of the territory at the Church Madonna del Soccorso, in the presence of the parish priest Father Oreste Borrelli. The delegation would like to thank all the friends and supporters of the important Rubro Monte Family Association, represented by President Dr. Giuseppe Crispino and Dr. Antonio Parisi and his family.

  • CALABRIA: CELEBRATIONS OF THE CANDLEMAS

    On the occasion of the important celebration of the Candlemas, the delegation of Calabria participated in two solemn masses. The first one was held in the city of Catanzaro, near the parish of Sant’Antonio da Padova, where the Eucharistic liturgy was presided over by H.E. Msgr. Vincenzo Bertolone, archbishop of Catanzaro – Squillace diocese and president of the Episcopal Conference of Calabria. At the end of the celebration, all Knights,  guided by the vice delegate, met the prelate of Calabria, who was given a copy of “A walk between faith and charity, Yearbook 2016-2017“, published by the Delegation. The Knights and the volunteers donated many clothes for the young prisoners of the Penal Institute for the minors of Catanzaro.

    At the same time, a representation of knights participated in the celebrations of the “Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord Jesus in the Temple” in the city of Reggio Calabria, near the Church of Santa Maria della Candelora. The exciting liturgical celebration was presided over by H.E. Msgr. Vittorio Luigi Mondello, Archbishop Emeritus of Reggio Calabria-Bova and Prior of the Delegation of Calabria; Msgr. Luigi Cannizzo, Vice Prior concelebrated the mass. The representation of Knights and volunteers also made a donation for the poor of the area.
