  • CALABRIA: CULTURAL INITIATIVES IN MONGIANA

    May, 23rd 2018. Last weekend the delegation of Calabria, in collaboration with the City of Mongiana, organized several cultural initiatives. A conference entitled “Mongiana: le miniere, il ferro e l’industria del sud” took place during the first day. The mayor of the city took the floor, followed by the Vice delegate of the region. Both of them greeted the civil and military authorities. At the end the delegate concluded that joyful day with his greetings.

    On Sunday morning, participants visited the famous Bourbon Foundry which is located in the heart of the city. Afterwards Knights and Dames attended the solemn celebration of Pentecost, presided by Father Alessio at Maria SS delle Grazie Church. During the weekend the delegation visited Villa Vittoria, an important military facility and the Nature Preserve.

  • CALABRIA: PILGRIMAGE TO CAMPANIA

    April, 23rd 2018. Knight and Dames of the delegation of Calabria spent wonderful days in the occasion of their pilgrimage to Campania. Once they reached their destination, they started the day visiting Pompei. They also took part in the solemn Mass presided by Msgr. Canizzo, Vice Prior of the delegation and Msgr. Adamo.On Saturday the delegation went to Caserta and admired the Royal Palace and its beautiful gardens. They also visited San Leucio. The last day was dedicated to Naples, where the delegation had the chance to visit the Royal Palace and the most important streets of the city. The delegation also met some Neapolitan Knights, guided by the Vice Delegate of the region, Mr. Donadoni.

  • CALABRIA: THE DELEGATION GOES TO THE MAKESHIFT CAMP IN ROSARNO

    Rosarno (RC), March, 15th 2018. Some Knights of the delegation, in collaboration with the local Caritas and Santa Barbara Onlus Association members, discovered a terrible situation in San Ferdinando (Reggio Calabria). The makeshift camp was in desperate conditions, abandoned and with the lack of safety and cleanliness. Moreover, dozens of men and women lived there crammed in crumbling tents. The delegation, guided by Mr. Badolati and the other associations, prepared a field kitchen and served 200 hot meals.

  • CALABRIA: THE DELEGATION HELPS MIGRANTS

    CALABRIA MIGRANTIOn March, 10th some Knights and volunteers of the Calabrian Delegation donated high-visibility jackets to the migrants who daily go through the streets of San Ferdinando (RC) by foot or by bike to go to work. These streets are not illuminated and produce lots of accidents.

     

     

     

  • CALABRIA: HOLY MASS AND A DONATION

    cosenzaCosenza, February, 18th 2018. A Constantinian Mass, chaired by Mons. Fuscaldo, took place at Sant’Aniello Church. Knights and Dames of the Delegation made a donation to the Diocesan Caritas.

  • CALABRIA – INVESTITURE CEREMONY IN GERACE, OCTBER 28, 2017

    0CAs previously announced a solemn ceremony celebrating the investiture of new Knights and Dames was held in Calabria, on October 28. This is the first such ceremony to take place in the region in over 100 years.

    The event was held in the Cathedral of Gerace (Reggio Calabria) in the presence of the Grand Prefect, H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, and numerus other dignitaries of the Order, including H.E. Baron Francesco Sanseverino di Marcellinara, Member of the Royal Deputation, Marquis Giorgio Mirti della Valle, President of the Royal Heraldic Commission and numerous knights and dames who arrived from throughout the nation.

    Present at the ceremony were the Delegate from the Order of Malta, Baron Arturo Nesci di Sant’Agata, a large contingent of Red Cross Volunteer nurses, representatives from the Carabinieri Corps and the Italian Navy, in addition to Mayors from various Calabrian cities and many high ranking regional authorities.
    The day began with the conferral by H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon of the gold medal of merit of the Constantinian Order to the flag of the Royal Philharmonic Academy” of Gerace, directed by Mr. Giacomo Oliva.

    SAt the conclusion of the procession of knights toward the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta a solemn ceremony of investiture was held welcoming to the Order two Dames and twenty-five Knights, including two members of the clergy.
    The solemn ceremony was officiated by H.E. the Archbishop Emeritus of Reggio Calabria, Mons. Vittorio Luigi Mondello, Ecclesiastical Knight Grand Cross of Grace and Prior of the Calabria Delegation.
    During the Eucharistic celebration a message from the Grand Prior, H.M.R.E. Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino, was read welcoming the new knights and dames to the Order.

    3After the ceremony a donation was made to needy families of the parish and the territory and, in the presence of H.R.H. the Grand Prefect, the Crumbs of Health Program was officially inaugurated in Calabria. This charitable program has been active for several years in Sicily and provides for the systematic donation to different dioceses of goods for infants 0 to 3 years of age.

    On this occasion Delegate Giampietro Sanseverino dei Baroni di Marcellinara informed all present that the dates for future donations to needy families of the parish and the territory have been scheduled for Reggio Calabria, Marano Marchesato (Cosenza) Palizzi (Reggio Calabria) and Vibo Valentia.

  • CEREMONY OF INVESTITURE IN GERACE – CALABRIA

    CO Cross 150x150Gerace (RC) The ceremony of investiture of new Knights and Dames of the Constantinian Order will take place On October 28, in the presence of H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Grand Prefect.
    This important ceremony will be presided by His Most Reverend Eminence Cardinal Raffaele Martino, Grand Prior, and will be concelebrated by the Prior of the Delegation, H.M.R.E., Mons. Vittorio Luigi Mondello, Archbishop of Reggio Calabria – Bova.

  • HISTORICAL CONFERENCE IN ROSSANO

    2On August 12 the Calabria Delegation assembled once again in the city of Rossano thanks to the generous hospitality of the Amarelli Company. The day was filled with events, beginning with a visit to the splendid Amarelli Museum, followed by Holy Mass officiated by Vice Prior, Monseigneur Antonio Morabito, in the Patrician Chapel of the Amarelli Factory.
    The final event of the day was a conference on the subject: “Post-Unification Brigandage: History and Legend”. (more…)

  • CALABRIA – MONTH OF MAY

    Calabria – On April 27 H.R.H. Princess Beatrice of Bourbon Two Sicilies went to Calabria for a series of official commitments.

    After taking part in the inauguration of the Conference “The Antiquity of the Kingdom, archeology, protection and restoration in the pre-unification south” held in the National Archeological Museum of Reggio Calabria from 26 to 29 April, 2017, H.R.H. the Grand Prefect visited the Maritime Headquarters of Reggio Calabria.
